Over the years there has been a rumor that Mark is trying to link Facebook together with WhatsApp. This means that users can text their friends from messenger through WhatsApp.

This feature sounds weird I know. But I doubt if it will come to reality. Well, who knows?

With the recent updates rolling out on Facebook and WhatsApp, it seems Mark and his team are trying to implement some of these rumored features.

I’m an active user of WhatsApp and also I usually update my apps, therefore, I’m always lucky to be among the first set of users who normally get enrolled in new updates/features.

A few days ago after updating my WhatsApp, I swiped to update my status as I do every time. After updating my status, a “Share to Facebook Story” icon was displayed. On tapping it, the status I made on my WhatsApp status was automatically shared directly to my Facebook story.

This is a new feature that is still being rolled out to all WhatsApp users. So don’t be scared or worried when you don’t see this feature yet on your WhatsApp.

How this works:

When you update your WhatsApp status, in the process of loading/posting, the Share to Facebook Story icon pops out already.

Once you tap on the share to Facebook story icon, it will automatically screenshot that status you made on WhatsApp and get it ready to be shared on your Facebook story. All you need to do is tap on the Facebook “Share Now” button and your WhatsApp status would be posted on your Facebook story.

This is an amazing feature if you desire the following;

1. The easiest way to post on your Facebook story without having to launch the Facebook app
2. If you are the type who always loves their profile to have that premium blue circled line, then this feature will help you do that every time once you update your WhatsApp Status.

Every feature has its negative side. Below are some disadvantages to this new WhatsApp feature.

1. When you post on your WhatsApp status, you have just about 3seconds to tap on the “share to Facebook story” icon else it would disappear. Once it does, you need to follow the manual steps to share it on your Facebook story.

Now to archive this on your WhatsApp, make sure your app is updated to the latest version.

Step 1: Launch WhatsApp
Step 2: Swipe to the status area
Step 3: Update any status of your choice (texts or videos)
Step 4: Tap on the share to Facebook icon
Step 5: Tap on share now

Simple Steps How To Share WhatsApp Status Directly To Facebook Stories Manually

Like I stated above the share to Facebook story icon lasts for just about 3 seconds after you have updated your status on WhatsApp. After that, it disappears.

If the icon disappears before you could share to Facebook, follow these steps below to manually share your WhatsApp Status to your Facebook story.

Step 1: Launch WhatsApp
Step 2: Swipe to the status area
Step 3: Tap on the 3 horizontal lines to view all your updated WhatsApp status
Step 4: Tap on the 3 vertical lines of any status you wish to share to your Facebook story. This action will pop up the following options;

  • Forward

  • Share

  • Share To Facebook

  • Delete

Step 5: Click on “share to Facebook”

Note: Share and share to Facebook are two different features. The share button will only redirect you to Facebook to share on your timeline while the share to Facebook button shares your WhatsApp status directly to your Facebook story.

PS: In case you have the latest WhatsApp version but still don’t have this feature, worry not as WhatsApp is still rolling out this feature in batch. Keep updating your app when a new update arrives, you will get the feature in no distant time.
